Pablo Ziegler, revisited.
Dear Pablo, This is a public letter, I?ll also publish this to my blog. But I knew you were coming to Amsterdam, and I always knew: I have to hear you sometime for real. I?ve waited for that long. This weekend I had my kids around me, I tried all week to get everyone enthusiastic for going with me to your concert, everybody ?busy busy etc? having plans with this good weather etc?? pfff In the end at Saturday 18th, I just got desperate, I ordered 3 tickets in the morning and went for the long trip to Amsterdam, took along my 2 kids (protesting and all?;-) answering their questions like: ?why do we have to do this?? (they know me?, whatever I play at home, they?ll critize the music, even if I play it myself (on clarinet, they like my playing very seldom)) with answers like: ?you?ll remember this evening for the rest of your life, weather you like it or not..?. I?m so sorry to you, I was that egoistic! (but at least I could prevent another evening lost with xbox-gaming, was my thinking?) But now please leave those negative connotations aside, you (and! walter, enrique and quintino !) all gave all of us indeed the evening we?ll never forget! My kids are still talking about it. I saw my youngest son of 11 (who played piano himself, but lost interest? (why? im not always there, it could have been different)) watching you with big eyes so fascinated, whispering questions to me like: where is his sheet music? (etc?) Both of them (especially my 16 years old daughter) have false (puber-like) shames on how to behave in community, and that was a great lesson for them too: from rhythmic tapping your feet towards nodding your head on the bars, from standing up real soon to appreciate you all, towards cheering for a great solo you just heard?. Which I all just do, instead of all those rest of ?really? important looking figures in the audience. So happily, I could point them to the gestures of the arranger/sound director (don?t know his name) who sat with his sheet music next to the technician, who completely did the same as me?. (kids: watch that guy: he knows?) I liked all of that! Pablo, I became in touch with (and appreciated since?) Piazolla?s music in ?88. I was only 24 years old back then, but I immediately recognized that it was also you to have a keyrole. Piazolla was a story teller, but for the rare events, or strange turns that a good story needs, you were always the one giving that story exactly the right shape. I even wrote a small article (in dutch..) about you, how you saw apart ?mumuki? on ?tango zero hours? in two, by your piano that greats the distance from the intro, asking for contemplation, and at the same time zooming into the story that comes? (using the metaphor of a nightclub pianist?;-)) I?m simply just a fan of you. So many thanks! (and also, walter, enrique and quintino!) I had so a great evening! The metropole orchestra was great too, didn?t you think? (which was where my kids were really baffled!, that such a sound could exist? Good for them ;-) But apart from my own happiness with your music, somehow you convinced my kids that one could be very well completely crazy about music? And that it is a good thing! Noud

Lekker doormidden.
Gelukkig, ik ben eindelijk gebroken. Lekker gehuild, dat was behoorlijk nodig. Nu heb ik alleen nog een enorme bult onder mn bil. een ingegroeide haar of een vastgelopen talg klier ofzo. als die nou ook eens zo open barstte... (morgen maar naar de dokter)
mijn huis, achter mn tent.
wij hebben dit gebouw met zn allen verdeeld in apartementen, doen zelf het onderhoud etc... ik heb een gedeelte van de bovenverdieping. het stuk van het midden t/m de 1e twee ramen ernaast. vooral aan de achterkant is het mooi. hoge plafonds, enorme ruimtes. (tis goed muziek draaien)

Nou ja, zoals ik in de meel al zei, ergens ben ik er ook wel een voorstander van om de boel toch maar gewoon open te gooien.
