Spiering is vis als er anders niets is
Als er spiering op de vismarkt ligt is de depressie echt aan land gekomen. Niet voor niets luidt het spreekwoord spiering is vis als er anders niets is . Niettemin smaakt een handvol spierinkjes bijzonder goed. Het is niet voor niets verre familie van de zalm. Je eet ze met kop en vinnen bij voorkeur gefrituurd.
Weird Meltdown
Here?s what I?ve been doing some weeks ago, when ice was covering most of the open waters around amstardam. Weird meltdown! Unfortunately I was traumatised from a number of skating accidents in previous years, which about all ended with me bleeding like a slaughtered pig or in plaster casts. But after a week of not having the guts to get on ice suddenly the magic ? it was sunny as hell, there was no wind, everybody was on ice - got too strong and I was pulled to this frozen lake just north of Amsterdam. Unfortunately it appeared to be the very last day, as thaw set in next day.
Eagle?
Apart from the amazing soundz you get on large ice?plains (very ?dubby? BOOF or CLOoooOOF , sometimes sounding like crying whales) on the small canals you get ?em all different, but equally fab - there?s plenty of weird shapes and figures to be enjoyed WITHIN the ice. I spent a lot of time on my belly. But I have to confess I dropped some a. Which made me forget about the bleeding ankles and shit and made me feel like I was flying an eagle. Or was I feeling like a flying eagle? Too much euphoria can dot that?.
Yet another miracle
And opened my eyes to yet another miracle: me own hand holding an ice rock in front of the setting sun. I?m quite the artist, ain?t I?
I can see for milesandmilesandmiles etc.
This is were the going gets big (sound of Who song: I can see for milesandmilesandmiles etc.)and you get these weird dub -echos from huge water masses captured and not quite perfectly sealed off and you get the impression the ice is like a scaled down map of geographic rock structures seen from outer space. Sometimes you see a little perch frozen in, but not this year.
